Review of Ten (2002) by Catherine L — 11 May 2008
To reply to the last reviewer: maybe it is limited because you expect something else. Why not be open-minded and accept to be taken along this trip, a made to show real day reality in a different light? Instead of the contemporary gimmicks of film making with several cameras, special effects and such, this movie brings another dimension.
You are meant to be taken along... simply. And react. Without any other artifacts.. react to life, people and their lives... react to and feel the human aspect of the circumstances shown. As a plus it is set in a country/town, which I am not familiar with and people who have a different - yet so similar - perspective on life and the world.
This for me is amazing cinema! With its apparent simplicity, the film actually sets the premises for the viewer to be able to witness something happen.. in a much more effective way as any big budget movie.
Of the same vein as Bruno Dumont!
