Review of Taxi Driver (1976) by Amjad A — 11 Jul 2013
Martin Scorsese is such a visionary. What an amazingly masterful director. Taxi Driver has to be considered the single greatest film that Scorsese has directed. The performance from DeNiro is bone-chilling. The cast is incredible, the performances are brilliant, the storytelling and realism is off the chain.
It deals with so many social and political issues. The film is flawless and has so many layers. It's not a flashy Hollywood slam dunk. It's a gritty, realistic, ingenious piece of cinema that deserves maximum attention.
A haunting and provocative film that needs to be viewed by everyone who appreciates cinema and film in general. Scorsese at his best.
