Review of Tarnation (2003) by Russ V — 14 Feb 2008
There's nothing like anything you've ever seen before in this film. Hold on! It's going to be a chaotic ride when Caouette opens the flood gates and let's us in on the raw wound that is his childhood. At parts the film leaves the viewer speechless and even a little bit nauseated. Obviously, this was made with gut-reaction emotion rather then traditional narrative filmmaking in mind. Which actually works to convey the messyness of the story.
Highly recommended.
A story from the brink and back.
