Review of Tango & Cash (1989) by Jacob Y — 26 Jan 2009
I love this movie! It's so over the top in such a quintessentially 80s way that you have to just sort of appreciate it for what it is. I like it that the writer/director had a sense of humor about it, I think if they had been 100% serious it would've been a little hard to swallow, but seeing them wheel out the SUV with a gatling gun attached to it (made by the mad scientist that works for LAPD's R&D dept. LOL) reminded me all of a sudden why this was my favorite film as a kid.
Favorite part of the film: The end when they burst into the obligatory bad guy lair and proceed to get into a demolition derby with monster trucks outfitted with machine guns. LMAO. Where the Hell did they get all those insane cars from and how were they ready so fast? Fucking amazing.
