Review of Tammy (2014) by Erica S — 20 Mar 2015
Everyone raves about Melissa McCarthy, and I get it, she's the funniest female in Hollywood right now. She's the female version of Chris Farley, but far less funny. So, I was kind of looking forward to this.
I must say, it wasn't McCarthy supplying the laughs this time around. For a majority of the film it was none other than Susan Surandon, yes, that's right. She is off the wall, mean, drunk, and demeaning the entire time.
Something we don't normally see from her. But I assure you, she is great. Most definitely the highlight of this film. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward, funnyish, and sometimes boring.
But, if you love McCarthy, you'll probably love "Tammy." 2/5 JD.
