Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Chacko A — 03 May 2010
It sounded like a bad idea for a first class master director to make a movie based on some old guys memoir full of stories that seem like being made up. Guess what? He did it again! If you're familiar with Lee's early works, especially "Father Knows Best" trilogy, you would totally understand why he was interested in this subject.
Yes, there come a couple of old-fashioned parents and a gay son again. But instead of seeking for acceptance, the son liberated himself without even being aware of it. No one knew an American jewish dad could be quite cool, too.
