Review of Tabloid (2011) by Mike V — 19 Jul 2011
One of the best docs of the year, Morris' film is especially topical with the recent Murdoch scandal going on in the UK involving tabloid journalism. Joyce McKinney is a complicated character - and make no mistake, she is a character.
Instead of just telling her story in a straightforward, obvious way, Morris creates a compelling expose on a woman obsessed with men, sex, and most importantly, celebrity. So many questions are left unanswered; mostly because answers might not exist.
Not one of Errol Morris' best films but still a fascinating movie.
