Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Logan T — 30 Jun 2012
To watch a Charlie Kaufman film is to surrender your logical thinking completely. I personally found it fascinating in the weirdest ways, and Philip Seymour Hoffman brings this character's insanity and emotional pain to the forefront in a fantastic performance.
"Synecdoche, New York" is a movie that must be seen multiple times, and that's perfectly fine by me. The story has multiple layers and meanings, and maybe with a second viewing I'll fully comprehend all the double ententes and symbols that I may have missed the first time.
