Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Patrick F — 07 Jun 2010
This film can be a bit slow, and its editing leaves the events somewhat disjointed. Itâ??s certainly not quite as entertaining or wicked as â??Oldboy.â?? But as it goes on, the story blossoms into a rather intriguing (if not gut-wrenching) series of tragedies, and becomes brutal and mesmerizing.
Combined with excellently subtle acting, strong cameramanship, and purposeful pacing, this film packs a punch of its own.
