Review of Sylvia Scarlett (1935) by Ruth L — 03 Dec 2007
Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant's first film together. And it's a great one.
A flop in its time (probably for being both a bit off beat, and controversial) it became a cult classic in later years, and it really shows Hepburn and Grant at the finest, and in the hands of one of old Hollywood's most underrated directors, George Cukor.
It's a bit quirky, and some how feels slightly awkward in it's execution.
But a thoroughly enjoyable movie none the less.
