Review of Sylvia Scarlett (1935) by José P — 04 Sep 2008
Kind of sensual: before Katharine Hepburn reveals herself to be a woman (a whole hour into the show), the maid pounces on her for a passionate kiss. Ah, the '30s. Of course, everyone thought she was a boy at that point.
Three separate movies? 1. The father and (disguised) daughter escape from France and become con artists along with Cary Grant. 2. The three join up with a maid and go on the road -- to put on a show! 3.
Katharine Hepburn becomes a giddy schoolgirl when they run into an artist/playboy type even though Cary Grant is right there under her nose!
