Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Jaime L — 20 Oct 2016
I appreciate the originality but there quickly came a point where the fart and boner jokes wore very thin. Filled with strange dress up scenes, philosophical ponderings with a corpse and a final ten minutes that really was a capstone to the foolishness that happened beforehand.
Paul Dano gave perfect overacting to let the audience absolutely know what an absurd premise this film has, as if a talking, farting, horny dead man wasn't enough. Good enough for a one time watch, had enough humor and fun to override (mostly) the sporadic dumber parts as well as a too strange finale.
