Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Gabriel C — 03 Feb 2017
Swiss Army Man.
3 out of 5 stars.
So this movie will divide all of us, you will either enjoy it or absolutely hate it, there's very little opinion in between due to the bizzare nature of the film.
A "stranded" man (Paul Dano) attempts suicide but is saved when the corpse of a man washes ashore (Radcliff) providing him with much needed companionship. Together with the corpses jet ski flatulence and water providing excremeny the pair embark on a journey home.
Its bizzare, sorta unsettling and immature at times, but strangely moving and a very ernest and an accurate portrayal of internal loneliness and longing.
You have to watch this film, you cant just throw it on, pay attention to the subtitle messages amidst the noise. I don't reccomend it but at the same time I do., The performances are well done, even Radcliff who is mostly just a corpse the whole film but Dano really shines and wholeheartedly steals the show.
