Review of Swiss Army Man (2016) by Laroy T — 05 Oct 2016
Possibly as original as a film can be, Swiss Army Man represents an existential bromance between a man stranded on an island and the flatulent, priapic corpse that washes ashore with seemingly magical abilities.
A film about depression and the aspects of ourselves that we hide from the world, Swiss Army Man is about embracing the decaying pile of shit that is life and learning to love it for all its beauty--even when they beauty might seem disgusting.
It is moving, hilarious, thought-provoking, and heartbreaking independent cinema at its best. Even if you hate it, I guarantee that you will never forget it.
