Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) by Jacob S — 21 Oct 2012

I honestly believe that if Daniel Day-Lewis hadn't done There Will Be Blood that year, this would've gotten Johnny Depp an Oscar. As you know, I've got a love/hate relationship with Tim Burton.

..this movie reminds me of why I love his work. I love the dark atmosphere, the sets, the costumes, the actors and the music. Is it a perfect adaptation of the Broadway show? No, but I still think he did a good job sticking to what the focus of the movie should've been.

If you haven't watched this one yet, remedy that.
