Review of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) by Andrew O — 20 Feb 2013

Burton handled this musical well, it surprised me that he used a good British supporting cast. I loved the story, this was my first exposure to it and I can see why it's popular. Johnny Depp as always was brilliant and his singing was good considering he'd never sang publicly before (i think), as was Helena Bonham-Carter but i'm sort of getting sick of her playing these cockney deviant/prostitute roles all the time.

I loved the blood, the blades and the burning of Mrs. Lovett.
