Sweeney Todd is in need of high praise for Burton has successfully modified this spectacular musical into the film format! As usual with Burton, Depp stars as the terrifying barber alongside Carter as the oh so willing killing companion, Mrs.
Lovett. Sondheim's music is thematic and compelling, and used to develop the plot and reveal motivations; which the actors carried out beautifully: Todd with his vengeance, Lovett with her sickening actions fueled by desperation and love, Turpin with his fixation towards the beautiful Johanna, etc.
The graphics were explicit, no boundaries as Todd swiftly slit throats right and left with skill. With its intriguing, inventive and morbid plot, the story of Sweeney Todd will leave you taken aback with horror.
