Review of Suspiria (1977) by Matt W — 30 Jan 2010
You want an excellent 'giallo' movie(if anyone out there knows what that means) here it is. Argento's best movie of his career, and now matter how many times I watch it it still gets my heart racing, brilliant colors, pounding soundtrack by goblin, the most shocking opening sequence in cinema. everything about this movie is hypnotic. Watch it!!! But maybe not alone.
Update on the new Cine-excess DVD release-the new remastered DVD relese of Argento's masterpiece finally does it justice............just. Sound is finally put back into sync and sounds fresh, unfortunatly picture qaulity suffers a little, there is a bit to much saturation in some scenes and color bledding occurs. Either way the film still has the power it always did have and is still one of the finest italian horror films ever commited to celluloid.
