Review of Suspicion (1941) by Anis T — 29 Sep 2008
Hitchcock didn't like the ending of this film and neither do I. It's impossible to expand on this without giving the plot away, but very few people who see Suspicion will like its ending, especially if you've read the novel beforehand.
But I guess the conclusion isn't final so that's some consolation. Up until then the film is an excellent example of the use of suspense. Joan Fontaine was worthy of her Best Actress Oscar and Cary Grant is perfect as the cad with a dark side.
