Review of Suspicion (1941) by Deke P — 20 Jul 2018
Finally saw it on PBS, 7.21.18. Very disappointed. first 50minutes or so very slow, lighthearted. Finally begins to start to be suspenseful. The denoument is ridiculous.
If he really loved her, why drive like such a maniac along the coast cliff that her car door swings open? The last few minutes verbalizes the wrapup.
I regret it and was ashamed of having recommended it. I never seen before and the cast and the year 1941... Dad was only 16 or 17... And the title made it sound great. iPhone the first 15 minutes or so to be insufferably and cloyingly saccharine and slow.
Then he turned into a jerk whether he was really a merger or not.
And if he loved her why would he drive like a maniac along the Cliffs of the Big Sur highway Such that her door swing open thank you and she almost fell out?.
So they wrapped up the dénouement with a few words at the end.
and he kept calling her endearingly "monkey face". I never thought to use that myself.
Does that work with women?
If not I found it entirely insulting and obnoxious. But I guess some women love that "monkey face". Oh I think I get it now: monkeys... Some of them... Our "cute". So he was calling her "cute"... Right?
