Review of Suspicion (1941) by Remik B — 09 Feb 2009
Not one of Hitchcock's best but still very good. Cary Grant and Joan "Monkeyface" Fontaine are great together. The film takes its time to finally turn into a "Hitchcock" film, but when it gets there its got some great moments of suspense.
That milk shot was awesome. It's good that I didn't really know anything about this film prior to seeing it, so it was fun not knowing how it ends (compared to other famous Hitchcock films). Even though the end wasn't as thrilling as I had hoped, it's still a good film.
I guess it's a pretty good Oscar win for Fontaine, one of those classic Golden Age of cinema Best Actress wins, reserved and never really overdramatic.
