Review of Suspicion (1941) by Codyzamboni — 24 May 2019
Above average, but not great Hitchcock. I think Joan Fontaine was extraordinary in this role. She so deserved to win the Oscar. Cary Grant plays a super jerk, a first class heel, and Hitchcock plays off that nastiness to a satisfying degree.
Except for the slap in the face studio imposed ending, this movie's effectiveness still holds up.
