Review of Survive Style 5+ (2004) by Davis V — 23 Oct 2009
[SPOILER WARNING] People have called this movie Pulp Fiction on crack and rightly so. I don't remember why I got this but I'm glad I did. It's a hilarious collision of five stories. A hitman, who wants to know the purpose of things and people in life and his translator, going about their business. A suburban family of four in which the father is hypnotized into thinking that he's a bird and is trying to learn how to fly. A man who kills his wife and who fails to keep her dead over and over again. A hypnotist and a commercial executive. A trio of jobless guys wasting time burglarizing houses. [/SPOILERS].
Not once did I feel like it was dragging on because even the lull parts are used very effectively to build up anticipation. The colors are vivid and varies, just like the movie. The acting was superb. Some of the facial expressions were just priceless. It's a keeper and it definitely has the potential to be a cult classic.
