This movie almost had the feeling of Twin Peaks with its style and characters; however, perhaps not as abstract and disjointed as daddy Lynch tends to film. Set in a small-town police station, complete with coffee, we are given front seats to the interrogation of witnesses to a murder.

Each witness has their own version of the story, which conflicts in some details to what we are actually shown through flashbacks. We get to see cops gone wild in the prairie doing bad things to highway drivers, a couple who lives to get high, and a dysfunctional family trying to be functional.

Although the movie didn't leave me on the edge of my seat, it kept my interest despite its character and story flaws. The twist near the end came as no surprise, as it was easy to figure out within the first 10 minutes or so.
