Review of Superman II (1980) by Alice . — 23 Jun 2013

Hello my name is Baurushan and this is my review of Superman II. The story revolves around Clark Kent/Kal-El played by the late Christopher Reeve working for the Daily Planet and then he goes off to save Lois Lane played by Margot Kidder who is trapped in Paris in the Eiffel Tower by terrorists.

they threaten some hostages with a nuclear device but Clark as Superman saves the day and flings the weapon into space nnot knowing that it frees his latest enemies from the Phantom Zone into Earth: General Zod, Ursa and Non played by Terence Stamp, Sarah Douglas and Jack O'Halloran.

They are three prisoners from the planet Krypton and they have all of Superman's strength's. When Lois realises who Clark Kent really is, he sacrifices his powers and becomes a mortal for her just when he realizes that General Zod, Ursa and Non have taken over the streets.

Superman gets his powers back and defeats the three prisoners once he is trapped in his secret home in the Arctic. The next day, Clark kisses Lois deleting her memories of him being Superman with hope that she will lead a better life if she doesn't remember who he really is.

And again like the first film, this movie is yet a triumphant success and I love this film. It's sweet yet patriotic, it's charming yet action-packed and it's faithful to the comics and pays not attention to it's stupid non-sensical noobs, just like a true adaptation.

But while it does have it's moments, it's not as epis as the first movie. The intro to the first film made me cry with joy. This film didn't set the bar any higher since Richard Lester took over the legendary Richard Donner.

There is a separate director's cut-version of this film titled "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut" and I have heard that is a lot better than the original version so I'm happy to check that out.

Anyway, Superman II gets a weak 10/10.
