Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Dan M — 21 Dec 2008
I'm not a big fan of Spike Lee as a person, but, his directing is pretty top notch here (except for some heavy-handed shots). This was a great movie that examined the paranoia that exists in small neighborhoods, set against the backdrop of the Son of Sam murders.
Adrien Brody and John Leguizamo are excellent, but this movie feels like it lasts 4 hours.
