Interesting. Very very interesting. I thought I was going to watch a biopic on the seriel killer "Son of Sam" BUT this is titled "Summer of Sam" not "Son of Sam" so it is actually about the summer of '77 when Son of Sam planted fear in every New Yorker's mind. The film still does follow his killings but it is more about how the people of New York hid at night and turned against eachother out of fear from Son of Sam.

The film is amazingly shot and its disco dance sequences ( it is about the 70's after all ) are really neat and well done. The story is flowing and the acting is extremely top-notch.

I found it especially neat that when it did happen to show bits of Son of Sam, we felt like we were in his crazy mind, seeing the same visions he was seeing. That was the part that creeped me out.

The only turn off from the film and the reason why it lost a star was how pornographic it was. Yes it was about the 70s and yes that was all what the 70s were about. But there was alot. ... I mean ALOT. Oh well. ... It was good otherwise.
