Review of Summer Hours (2008) by Adam H — 12 Jun 2009
Wonderfully acted, and an overall strong film. The longer earlier acts are the most successful, particularly the second. Part of me wonders if the writer didn't know how to resolve a piece that began with terrific potential and pace.
I guess the ultimate theme is "generations," but I wasn't so much into that as I was into watching the relationships between the siblings. Binoche never fails to look amazing and perform effortlessly.
Berling and Renier fill out a terrifically well-cast trio of sibs.
