Review of Summer Hours (2008) by Mila B — 04 Jul 2009
Nice film, but emotionally unengaging. Style almost makes you feel like you are looking through the windows of a neighbours house - a family that clearly cares for one another, each sibling with their own motivations and unique perspective.
. . . I'm a fan of films that don't need 'hollywood drama', but it left me a bit flat. The eldest son and Eloise the caretaker, with her relationship to the house and contents, were the most compelling of the story lines.
