Review of Summer Hours (2008) by Anne F — 26 Jun 2011
Really affectionate and realistic portrait of adult siblings coping with themes of growing apart, re-considering their pasts and childhood memories and looking into the future. In a broader sense, also a really interesting exploration of themes of the sentimental value we assign to objects and the notion of history, belonging, and legacy through the things that we own.
Simple, but effective and really great cinema!
