Review of Sullivan's Travels (1941) by Nikolai E — 15 Mar 2008
Part wild slapstick, part hollywood farce, part class-struggle meditation. Structure is sometimes a weak point for Sturges, but it's particularly strong here, and his writing and direction are at their peak. An essential American comedy.
