Review of Sullivan's Travels (1941) by Kerby H — 17 Jul 2013
"There's a lot to be said for making people laugh... It isn't much, but it's better than nothing in this cockeyed caravan.".
What a classic! Preston Sturges' masterpiece delights and insights. Equal parts humor and meloncholy, it's almost Shakespearean in scope. The screenplay is as good as it gets, and Joel McCrea is terrific. Veronica Lake ain't no slouch either. One of my new favorites!
