Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Naveed K — 19 Nov 2017
Margot Robbie's Harley saves this movie from utter crap to watchable. Only other decent things in this movie are the soundtrack and mid credits scene with Bruce Wayne and Amanda Waller. With extra-terrestrial life confirmed via MoS and BvS, WB/DC now had a chance to introduce magic into the DCEU which would not only set up a weakness for Superman a la the comics (kryptonite too boring/predictable) when he returned but it would explain the source of Wonder Woman's and eventually set up the feasibility of Shazam/Captain Marvel.
Instead we get a movie that ties too hard to be hip and cool, introduces an unrecognisable Joker, and siply delivers a movie where I could not care one jot about any of the characters. did I bother to back read any suicide squad comics? Nope.
Did I back read some of GotG when that came out? Yep. Says it all I think.
