Review of Suffragette (2015) by Birda F — 16 Nov 2015
There's a certain genre of movie that is just painful to watch. There is endless suffering, the message is deep and even success comes at the steepest possible price.
Suffragette is one of these movies. The leads suffer beyond imaginable terms. From incarceration, losing their children to the sacrifice of their friends, these women gave everything up for the right to vote.
One could argue there is no more just cause than giving everything up to live free. While this is true, watching it in a movie on a relatively calm Sunday is pretty tortured if you ask me.
Suffragette is not a great movie but at least you learn something and you are no stupider after you have seen it.
