A phenomenal movie. So important for the times we're in, and so educational. Finally, someone has given us a chance to learn more about the struggle for female suffrage. In history classes, how many months do we spend learning about the race riots and strikes that blacks underwent for their rights? I'm not saying we shouldn't learn about that - I'm saying we should do the same for women.
They teach us about suffrage as if the US's 19th Amendment happened overnight. Why don't they teach us about the horrible treatment women faced to actually get it passed?? This movie finally gives us that opportunity, and it does so in an artful, moving, and transformative way.
