Review of Stuck (2002) by Florent J — 08 May 2009
In a new successful attempt at trying other genres, Stuart Gordon asks us a few questions: what would you do if you did a stupid mistake that could ruin your life? What are the consequences of being selfish? And more importantly, does taking care of old people and having really bad taste (haircut, clothes, boyfriend, etc.
) make you a good person? The answer is, of course, no. And God the answer is given with style. Stuart Gordon proves once again that he's getting better and better. His style is gritty, very noirish, but he still manages to add a few subtles jokes without losing the pace of movie.
He also gets the best from his actors, especially from the very convincing Mena Suvary who proves once again she's definitely not your typical Hollywood actress. Highly recommended!
