Review of Stroszek (1977) by Andrey B — 14 Nov 2018
I felt a bit desolated at the end of this picture. It's a bleak and sadly all too truthful view of the world, especially of the places which are usually deemed by all 'paradise on earth' who actually haven't been there.
Unfortunately I failed to grasp the meaning of this film, was it that going abroad wouldn't solve your problems so just stay where you are? but his depiction of Germany was as hopeless and bleak. But it's surely one hell of a cinematic experience of which Werner Herzog is definitely a master.
