Review of Stroszek (1977) by Seraphic W — 13 Dec 2016
A reality check? More like a slap in the face by Truth's very hand. Absurd, at times ridiculous yet absolutely enthralling, this project feels as tangible as it possibly can without having the viewer actively participating in its story.
Not for everyone and, for what is worth, I didn't fall head over heels for it or anything, but it is absolutely deeming a watch if only for the actuality factor. A man's descent into madness filmed in such an accurate way I've only previously witnessed in films like Angst and Possession.
