Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Trent C — 15 Feb 2008
A brilliant dissection of repression and violence. One of the few movies that I feel is controversial for a reason. Brilliant directoral style, and Hoffman is as brilliant here as he is in Marathon Man a few years later.
In my opinion, this is a bit better than The Wild Bunch. This movie is a good counterargument to Clockwork Orange as well. Worth checking out.
