Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by James M — 22 Apr 2010
Disturbing, suspenseful and terrifying. A difficult movie to stomach (extremely brutal); Peckinpah takes his time crafting a moving and frankly horrifying portrait of a man pushed to the brink. Dustin Hoffman is stellar showing amazing range as an actor.
Not for the faint of heart, the film is overwhelmingly violent at times. Brave and uncompromising this is definitely a film worth seeing.
