Review of Straw Dogs (1971) by Scott R — 17 Feb 2018
A plot that builds to an explosively violent mob show down. It is powerful (in a good and also psychotic/perverse way) and it leaves you trying to understand the relationships and what will come next. In particular it shows you the aftermath of what rape victims go through.
It also shows the remoteness of the English countryside and the characters and problems that can develop.
1001 movies to see before you die.
