Review of Strange Days (1995) by Stephan R — 15 Apr 2008
Very unconventional movie..... with a very, very, VERY conventional ending. But at 2h 25 minutes you still get a great deal of cool cyberpunk all shot at a great pace. I liked that the whole "clip" idea is used on oh so many different layers: starting out as a fascinating gimmick, Cameron and Bigelow don't shy away from exploring, how perverted clips might (and probably would!) get, were they on the market.
One could even say that clip/squid technology then trigger the big story conflict, but also serve as its (half-assed) solution. Therefore: great exploit of a cool idea!
