Caught the remastered 2007 dvd edition! Really underrated and marvellous! It beats me how this one never got any Oscar nods or hardly mention among Hoffman's personal best! Hoffman shows that he can pull off an amazing role among the very best of Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel! Great character study and great depth in story.

Theresa Russell shines as does the rest of this great cast that includes Harry Dean Staton, Gary Busey, M. Emmet Walsh and Kathy Bates. The heist and crimes are not glamourised here! Well worth the time! A must-see for fans of classic 1970s American cinema!
