Review of Still Alice (2014) by Wolfplay — 28 Feb 2015
This is a solidly produced film about an illness's devastating effects on a human being. Moore's performance Is very skilled and moving, and Kristen Stewart is well cast in her role. The film manges to avoid excessive mawkishness, while still providing emotionally powerful moments.
I give the director a lot of credit for a particularly suspenseful scene that manages to twist the audience into rooting for the protagonist's death, not the kind of experience one expects from a mostly conventional disease drama.
