Review of Staten Island Summer (2015) by P K — 20 Aug 2015
I thought this was an enjoyable film, in the vein of a National Lampoon Vacation movie (take your pick). The comedic lines were good, the delivery great, the actors all had nice comedic timing. The story line has Frank and Danny coming to a fork in the road.
One goes to Harvard, the other left behind in their boyhood neighborhood. Throw into the mix the last time they'll be working at the swimming club, pursuing the women of their dreams and a group of friends and coworkers who are going through their own crisis, a mob father who is zealous about keeping his hot daughter away from hormonal teens.
There's also the mid thirties slacker whose sole ambition in life is to party and is an arrested adolescent, a crazed maintenance worker who is eclectic and a creative genius. This movie was fun and after all who doesn't like something funny?
