Review of Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004) by Brian M — 05 Jun 2010
Starship Troopers 2 was a huge let down. It was dark through the entire movie, and there was little excitement value at all. There were only a couple decent actors in the movie, and the only interesting ones were the murderer turned hero, and the psyhics. The rest just seemed to be horned up extras who must have got a bad hat pick, and were chosen to die.
I don't know, it just seemed like whomever came up with the idea for this movie must have watched the first one, and decided that throwing in a bug down the throat rip-off of "the Faculty" would be a good idea for a crappy movie.
The sole purpose, cashing in on the popularity of the original Starship Troopers, which was a million times better.
Lets not forget the lame horror show idea, of singling out the next victim, as the movie progresses to it's obvious climax. There was just so much that could have been done with this movie, that it just didn't work. Now I see why people say that ST3 was better. It was.
