Review of Starship Troopers (1997) by Trey W — 25 Jul 2014
Works because Verhoeven's thematic premise is uncompromising. There are many scenes containing obscenity and brutal R-rated stuff in the film but the skill of the director makes you overlook all those disgusting spurts occasionally, and even giggle at the inspired lunacy when the troopers eventually take the podium to fight-out the alien bugs.
(Which means the first scene:p).
