At times, Starry Eyes effectively shows the horrors of a desperate struggling actress in the cutthroat world of Hollywood and, has some things to say about standing out and not settling for a plain mundane lifestyle but, it gets preposterously exploitative towards the end and feels unevenly contradictory.
