Review of Starman (1984) by Mary-Lou K — 01 Jan 2008
I hadn't seen this movie in a while, and it was on TV this moning uncut with no commercials. I had forgotten how much I liked it the first time! Jeff Bridges does a great alien, and comes across as genuinely intelligent about OTHER things, but really useless about HUMAN things.
Gradually, of course, he comes to understand love, beauty (and OTHER stuff!!!) and of course GETS THE GIRL. The spaceship at the end is even prettier than the one in Close Encounters.
