Review of Starman (1984) by Peter A — 20 Jul 2008
Between Darkstar in 74 and this in 84 nobody except Scorcese, Spielberg, and Woody Allen made as many certifiable classics as John Carpenter, a fact often overlooked due to the amount of schlock he's put on film since then.
This movie, like most of Carpenter's, builds around a really cool idea. What's different is the genuine heart that develops. It's quite good, actually.
